Instrument
Ink on hot press watercolor paper.
A pseudo portrait of a friend of mine. The connotation of the piece is relatively accurate, though it lacks
the booze and hordes of women that often accompany him. We all have a romantic side of us, anyway,
and in this case, he romanticizes the visual of two forms of artistic communications. I wanted the
movement of his hands to elude to the possibility that he could be playing a piano as well.. and thus
creating a parallel between the writer's instrument, a type-writer, and a musical instrument, such as a piano.
