Paint to the Beat Workshop 2011
Acrylic paint on prepped wood panels.
In February 2011, I was hired by the Washakie Museum in Worland, Wyoming to lead a two-day workshop for kids. I programmed Paint to the Beat to be relevant to the exhibition that was showing at the time, which focused on the entertainment industry from past eras.
I prepped each board with an illustration that represented a specific song from the given timeline. The kids then painted these boards using a limitation of colors. Not only were they exposed to some damn good old tunes, but they also learned a thing or two about color theory.
Who doesn't love dancing? The workshop was a lot of fun!
There is an entry at my Live Journal that goes into further details with additional pictures to view.
